Session Theme Title: “The impact of NDPB on the Data Protection and Privacy Ecosystem in Nigeria”

Session Synopsis:

On 4 February, 2022, the Federal Government of Nigeria approved the creation of the Nigeria Data Protection Bureau, the sole institution for the protection of data privacy and the cornerstone of a sustainable digital economy in Nigeria.

The Bureau focuses on key players in the data ecosystem, such as Data Controllers & Data Processors and ensures the protection of Data Subjects’ rights.

The National Commissioner/ CEO of the NDPB will be on hand to answer all questions relating to the objectives, roles and mandate of the Bureau and further address any concerns of industry leaders while interfacing with the Bureau.
